These images depict anti-fascist protests that took place in Lower Manhattan, NYC, during the summer of 2025. Following in the longstanding tradition of activist photography, these images focus on human beings trying to voice their beliefs while the government censors them. The ambivalence and, at times, aggression of the police is as tangible as the desperation and persistence of the protestors. Faces are blurred for legal protection. Monovisions Black & White Photography Awards recognized this series as an honorable mention in the photojournalism- series category in 2026.
